Keep up to date with forthcoming events
We will be holding regular events throughout the year, from round table industry engagement forums to an annual conference. Dates will be published here as soon as they are confirmed.
Our aim is to raise awareness of the trends in human capital investment, the changing face of the workplace and workforce and to provide guidance to local people and businesses on all human capital matters.
Bright Futures LBG will lead the way in conducting a high profile examination of the post COVID 19 environment at a Future of Work Summit on 8th October 2020 at Beau Sejour, Guernsey. Contributions will be made by globally respected organisations, such as the OECD, World Bank, Amazon, Microsoft and Bloomberg as well as by high profile thought leaders such as Prof. Andrew Scott and Baroness Camilla Cavendish. They will address the shifting demographics in a post COVID 19 world and the risks and opportunities that this presents to island communities such as Guernsey and Jersey who have been starved of an appropriately skilled talent pool.
This innovative and thought provoking event will provide delegates with rich globally relevant and practical human capital and technological insights in a post COVID 19 work of work.
The conference, now in its second year, will explore:
A Post COVID 19 World of Work – The tools, behaviours, benefits and risks of flexible and remote working. Our leap into a more digital work has highlighted the best and worst of technology. The size, structure and makeup of the future workforce is under review but where does that leave culture, the need for employees to be socially connected and employee wellbeing?
The Sustainability Question – How can we ensure that we build back a better world in which the sustainability of human capital lies at the heart of all that we do?
The big reset – A recovery based on equality, diversity and value – the need to address the multi-staged skills gap(s) to fuel advantage and value.
Unemployment and the future of the Gig Economy – A once in a lifetime opportunity?
A Post COVID 19 World – A New Dialogue
Every business, regardless of sector, has been affected by the government induced lock down. The Government enforced depression and subsequent recession will undoubtedly highlight some significant challenges to businesses but also presents some interesting opportunities. Will bricks and mortar really play a significant role in the future workplace? What do employees and other stakeholders really care about? Would they welcome a more flexible way of working which allows for a greater investment into the wider community with social and environmental initiatives, that support the rising tide of ESG.
Dramatic change introduces opportunity. An opportunity to stop, reflect and reassess; learning from the past to shape a better future. Moving away from a fearful impression of the role of technology, in driving a leaner more efficient and effective organisation, to one that fuses the best of human capital and technology.
We are incredibly grateful to have Carey Olsen, Grant Thornton, Rossborough Healthcare and HSBC as our sponsors of this event.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Delegates are invited to attend in person or via virtual live streaming.
